THIS SITE DOES NOT CONDONE ANIMAL FIGHTING OF ANY KIND! I started this web site after I became involved with a couple of rescue groups. Those groups have changed my life forever. My next awakening came when my son Ben adopted a pit bull mix named Remo. I was terrified of him at first then I fell in love with him. Next thing I knew, we had 3, Remo, Brixton, then Brix's Brother, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, (hey he ate a beer can at age 4 months). We ended up rescuing Brown from the pound and affectionately call him Brown Dog, who now lives with me and my two 15 year old rescued black lab mixed girls and four rescued cats, Misha, Thunder Paws, Rocky and Luna. With three Pits in the family I realized I needed to educate myself as I was petrified of the breed and becoming the owner of a Pit Bull has many responsibilities, both legally, socially and in raising a healthy, well mannered, socially safe animal. I was embarrassed to realize that my fear was born out of ignorance of the breed and all the negative press I had read. Only after I researched the breed, read and learned everything I could, did I come to realize, it is man that is evil and dangerous in the cruel ways they use these bright, loyal animals, NOT the breed. It is also, not just the way the animal is raised but the inherent temperament of the dog, which doesn't necessarily show up until some time later. Sad to say that the inherent temperament showing to an inexperienced owner can be disastrous at best, especially if the dog in questions is human aggressive, dog aggressive or small prey aggressive. This "showing up" will usually be in the form of attaching a person or another animal. We all know where that leads! Especially with the biased and generally irresponsible reporting of our breed in the media! A RESCUERS CREED Borrower from Tail Waggers USA

So this web site is dedicated to: 1. Educating the public of the TRUE virtues of this breed 2. Screaming at the top of my voice the names of, private citizens, agencies, and community leaders nationwide who turn a blind eye to the torture and cruel treatment of animals in their care and community. 3. Announcing legislation to stop the senseless murder of Pit Bulls simply because of their name. Both in "the ring" and from being euthanized in animal shelters across this nation. 4. I hope it will also be a resource for pet owners, rescuers and fosters of American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and pit bull mixes. 5. Enforced breeder regulations that limit BYB's (Back Yard Breeders) from populating the streets with their greedy need for money on the back of our breed. 6. To help and support BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) repealed where it exists. 7. Educate and Enforced anti-fighting regulations. My hope for this web site is that people will join me because they truly believe Pit Bull dogs need our help. People who are ready to commit to writing letters of support and educating the public so together we can stop all misconceptions and bad press about the breed. People who are willing to put their time, heart and soul into fighting unfair breed specific legislation (BSL), while recognizing that we need solutions to assure the safety of the dogs, as well as the safety of the public. People who believe dog fighting is cruel and are willing to stand up for the dogs, and the people willing to support those people who try to make things change. Finally, getting people to understand the necessity of promoting responsible pet ownership and a better image of the breed.
PEOPLE THESE ARE THE FACTS! BUYING FROM BACK YARD BREEDERS, AND NOT SPAYING OR NEUTERING YOUR PETS IS THE CAUSE OF THE BELOW STATISTICS! There are 45 cats and dogs for every one person born. Only one out of 10 dogs born ever finds a permanent home. Only one out of 12 cats born ever find a permanent home. 800 dogs and cats are destroyed EACH HOUR in the U.S. because there are not enough homes for them! It is estimated that Pit bulls and Pit bull mixes make up 40 percent of the population in shelters, and that only one in 600 pit bulls nationally is lucky enough to find a home. (thank you back yard breeders) Pit Bulls are now the #1 breed of dogs killed in shelters every month. In Los Angeles alone, it is estimated that up to 200 Pit Bulls *A DAY* are destroyed. (Please STOP supporting back yard breeders) PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!Click Here to Find a Free or Low Cost Program In Your Area
