This is a message I sent to Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Elba Garcia on 2/308: We will see, if in deed, she follows through on her statement to "investigate" with her city staff? "Shelter halts practice of dragging dogs to euthanization". Mayor Pro Tem you said you would investigate the abuse at your local shelter. I am writing to find out what your investigation found and what you are doing to STOP the inhumane treatment of animals in your cities care. Ignorance is no excuse, and our groups wants to know if Shelter manager Willie McDaniel will be
held accountable for the neglect that transpired under his watch? What steps will you be implementing to see that this does not continue under your shelter managers watch? What training or requirements are being implemented to see that staff is properly trained in the treatment and care of the animals in your shelter? Who will monitor this? |
